I bought 3sets of s-work crank and just tried to install one of them to PF30 frame.
It seems to me the spindle is not long enough. Is the crank made for BB30 only?

PF30 and BB30 both use the same cranks.

Both PF30 and BB30 fit frames with 68mm wide BB shells.

Perhaps more information about your frame and the BB you are using would help.

@Gregalfa: The delrin cup of the PF4630 gets in the way. You either need to add a small spacer on the drive side to move the whole crank arm out a bit or sand down the lock ring a tiny bit so that the lock ring and delrin cup don't touch.

Has anyone successfully run S Works bb30 cranks in a press fit 30 bb? I ask because I recently installed my cranks in a frame with a pf 30 bb and before getting even close to full torque, the crank binds and will not spin. This is last years crank with the allen key washer/adjuster on the non-drive side which I suspect may be the issue. Should I just use some wavy washers instead and ditch the Spesh adjuster?

For reference, SRAM bb30 and Rotor 3D+ cranks have both been installed in the pf30 bb in question and work flawlessly.

Many thanks!

The specialized OSBB is more narrow than a standard BB30 bottom bracket so i believe the cranks will not work correctly.

Thanks mnmasotto. I've since done some experimenting and the width is certainly the issue. For instance, the PF30 cup rubs against the spider (SRM spider) and seems to be the cause of the tight fit.

Standard BB30 bottom bracket width is 68 mm. The Specialized OSBB is 61 mm.

Lot's of confusion here.

Spec OSBB is effectively 68mm wide, std BB30.

The press in cups add 3.5mm each side creating a standard bearing spacing and overall width.

Spec's crank also fits a standard BB30 BB, like their alloy OSBB.

Problems with interference are probably with the edge of the press-in cup, or perhaps the cups are not fully seated.

Check out the Spec table http://www.specialized.com/media/whatsnew/CG0307_RevA.pdf

So in a totally impulsive move i bought a sworks quarq spider and a set of the new 2014 sworks arms to install on my Neilpryde Nazare. I tired dry fitting all the pieces together and it doesn't seem like it would be straight forward to make the crank fit. So am I S.O.L.? Will the crank only fit an OSBB or will I be able to fit it to the fsa pf30 bb with some modifications? If anyone has successfully done this already it would be greatly appreciated to see your set up.

Here is the manual for installation instructions from the big S:

Saw this thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=124333

but no real conclusions...

Edit: I'm wondering if some of the new alloy pf30 BBs would work better the lips seem to be very tiny, for example the wheels manf. pf30
