Yep they gave up on glass lens long ago, the majority of people don't like the weight.
I do believe at one time Oakley did offer a "better" product pushing the edge, however now I don't think so.
I hate to say this but I don't care about the "man on the street" what I can about is value of the product, and there are many was to measure that, with bike "stuff" I like to use cost per mile, or with cost per hour of use. ( most people have no issue paying 20$ USD to see a 2 hour movie)
With thousands and thousands of miles and years and years of use and I am very sure that my M pro Oakleys are a steal, just like my sidi energy shoes and my old school steel frame and campy 10 speed. All tools that you will have to pry out of my cold dead hands. : )
