~$100 for a NOS Kestrel EMS Pro/SL (26.0 x 40cm) that's 175-180g.

I have the Schmolke TLO Compact 0 degree 42cm (o-o) and they weigh 144 grams. Sometimes Schmolke does discounts, so you might contact them to see. info@schmolke-carbon.de Their normal pricing is 470 euros.

I would also recommend emailing Nils at AX Lightness. I've seen their bars also under 150gm. wiedemann@ax-lightness.de

Starbike is a good place to buy all of this stuff as they also have discounts.

I have the Kestrel bars on my cross bike and they are great for the $.

Figure out the shape that you like and go from there.
A light bar in a shape that sucks is no bargain.
Almost everyone has a sub 200 gram bar.
If you like classic bars you can find the Specialized Classic SL cheap- it is about 180 grams
and they sell used for around $100.
I think Specialized Spec'd them on a few bikes and a lot of people removed them.

We just finished the first round of road bar testing recently and will publish the full results shortly, there were a lot of bars that did well. I will say that in terms of stiffness to weight there was one bar that stood out well beyond everything else and that was Schmolkes Full Over, it did well not only because it's light, but was also the 2nd stiffest bar we tested even compared to bars almost twice it's weight.

Thanks for the preview, madcow! I saw those FullOver bars at Eurobike a few years ago and, while they didn't get much attention, looked impressive nevertheless. My first thought: these are my next bars! I've got quite big hands, so the larger diameter drops are most welcome.

A potential deal-breaker: they're exclusively 460mm outside-outside. I've seen them at 133 grams excluding proprietary lever clamps.

Wow, I would have thought they'll offer lightweight parts in smaller sizes to help those who'll like to save even more weight.

I recently purchased a 46 cm Thompson carbon aero flat top drop bars for 200.00 flat and they came in at 190 grams which was perfect for me

I've seen the 3t ergonova copies on ali express etc, I'm looking for a rotundo/ classic drop handlebar in carbon and lightweight. I'm currently on Deda Newton shallows so anything like that?

Ritchey SuperLogic Carbon Logic 2. Long name but good bang for buck. A lot of the super light weight bars offered by specialist carbon companies shave 20-30 grams off the Ritchey which weighs around 190 but cost a lot more.

@jmazzabufi

It´s nice to have a lightweight road handlebar. I have the 3T Ergonova Ltd 38 cm - 176 grams.

But I would consider very carefully if that´s the one place, where you wouldn´t go WW. The first thing that will brake in a crash is the carbon handlebar. If you´re a competitive racer, then I wouldn´t recommend a carbon handlebar. I´m really considering to buy the same handlebar in alloy for racing...

Agree, definitely not an area for anything less than first class quality. Syntace carbon bars are VR-3 tested, but around 200g...
