Parlee Z5i seat post clamps
Moderator: robbosmans
Trying to figure out what kind of weight savings I could get by replacing the standard aluminum seat post clamp on my 2014 Parlee Z5i with either a Parlee carbon seat post clamp that comes with the Z5SLi or one from Fair Wheel. Anyone know what the weights are for the standard Z5i and Z5SLi seat post clamps are?
Std Parlee z5 one weighs around 18g a nice 12mm high Mfck one not only looks better it's over 10g lighter. The only difference between the z5 and the z5sli one would be the bolt.

I just put a Parlee alloy clamp from a Z5i on the scale and got 22 grams, the carbon Parlee clamp is 16 grams.
As far as replacement clamps go, the Kcnc SC9 is the best value, but in my opinion the alloy tune clamp at 9 grams is the best option in terms of weight, performance, looks and price.

I have to disagree madcow I think looks wise the Mfck one is the trick.
But z5s were very black! My old 2011 z5 had a carbon clamp did they change it?

I'm a big fan of the Mcfk.
Honestly the Smud, Mcfk, Tune Skyline, and POP are all incredibly similar and all good choices. But given the fact that they are twice the price of the Tune alloy and generally only 2-3 grams lighter I still think the alloy is a better choice for most people. However if it's a true WW project and every gram counts then yes go for one of the carbons.

Madcow, I have a NeilPryde BuraSL and I am planning to replace the seatpost clamp. I heard that a 31.8 would not work well, and I was recommended to get a 30.7 KCNC. Do you know if the 30.0 Tune alloy would work?
I know you do not list the BuraSL in FWB website anymore, but I was hoping that you had this information at hand...
(I am traveling now, so I cannot confirm seat tube diameter - and sorry for hijacking the topic)
