$1,000 to spend on a race frame <1,000g - suggestions?

I am looking to upgrade my super cheap aluminum/carbon stay Nashbar frame and would like to go carbon. I'll be racing on it and I'd like it to be 1,000g or less. I don't mind looking into used options, but ideally it should be no more than $1,000 in total, shipping included.

Right now with these parameters in mind... the only thing that fits the bill is something from HongFu (fm066sl) or something from Pedal Force.

Any other names and or models I should be looking into?

Thanks for any help!

November Bikes is coming out with a frame that might meet those guidelines:

I've never ridden a fm066sl but I sure see a lot of happy people with them.

I like November Bikes a lot. I saw the pre-order on their new frame but for some reason it's disappeared. Perhaps they didn't get enough interest to start manufacturing?

I've also looked into Planet X quite a bit but nothing they have really ever jumps out at me. I also just can't stand their branding.

You should be able to pick up a Scott Addict frameset for under 1k on ebay. Might be more confidence inspiring than an ultralight china frame.

The Scott Addict looks like a seriously good option. Looking at some R1 models now on ebay. Just need to look at the geometry.

An addict would be great. I'm really happy with my 066.

The November is no more-their supplier jerked them around, so no bike in 2014 and the 13's are sold out...

You might take a look at the Raleigh Militis. Depending on your size, I may be able to help you acquire a used frameset for well within that budget :)

I happen to really like the FM066sl since it seems like a good weight, it's a great price, and it has internal housing cables which to me is a big plus, if I ever want to convert to electronic shifting.

I am just looking to see if there are any similar options available in the US that will give me piece of mind if something breaks or goes wrong. I've ordered a few times with Farsports for wheelsets, and have had good luck with them. But I am hesitant on a full frame from China for some reason.

The manufacturer started changing things after there were enough pre-orders, enough so that November Bikes pulled out of the deal. They have a decent blog about it here

+1 for the FM066. My buddy rode his extensively last year and had nothing but admiration for it.

+1 FM-066SL

I've just built one up for a mate. Nice and light. Paint and general finish isn't up there with the big brands but it's definitely light and cheap, and personally I like the design and the angles. I have the F&F weights for a 52cm if you need them.

I think the FM066sl might be my next frame.

I'd love to get the weights on the frame and fork if you have them. I am pretty sure my size is a 52cm as well so that's great you just built up the same size.
