I just installed a Recon aluminum cassette onto my Mavic wheel and it's very loose. I tightened the lockring down tight and I used the included washer. Do I need to tightened it down even more or is this how it should be? I've installed a cassette on a MTB and I don't recall it moving around.

You just need a thicker spacer and you will be fine.

Thanks. Would my LBS have these or are they uncommon washers? Any specific thickness I should get?

My understanding that with a 10-spd Shimano spec cassette on the Mavic freehub, 2 spacers are needed - one from Mavic and one from Shimano.

Your LBS should be able to help.

Don't ride it in the meantime.

Gotcha. The Recon came with a spacer, and I assume this is the same as the Shimano spacer. Is there a difference between the Mavic and Shimano spacers, or are they all the same?

Can't help on exact thickness. But I think the Mavic one is in the order of 1 - 2mm thick

The Mavic one is thicker than the 1mm Shimano one.
