I have a new pair of BTP hoods and am having a problem getting them installed over the SR levers.....actually the thumb lever. I remember having this problem about 4 or 5 years ago, but can't remeber how I solved it. I don't want to tear them. I tried a little soap inside and that didn't work. Thinking about trying to heat them up with a hairdryer. Any suggestions would be appreciated?

I remember reading on here that soapy water helps with installing.

BTW, where did you find them? I've been looking to purchase a set and can't find them anywhere.

Unfotunately, I got the last set that one of the WW members had. I tried the soapy water this time and although they slip over the top, I can't stretch the rubber over the thumb lever...even with prying.

Problem Solved. I heated up the hoods in the oven at a low temperature and that made the hoods more flexible, but still could not get them on....and then I discovered that the slits on the side and bottom of the Campy hoods was longer than on the BTP hoods. I used a small hole punch at each end (very clean holes) and voila!

Glad it's solved!

I'm so jealous you got a set of those.

My experience with the original BTP-hoods is that they are not exactly the most impressive handywork...
