Having ridden both, there isn’t much in it but the BMC wins for me. The canyon has a great feel and good power delivery but doesn’t quite do the bump damping that the BMC does, or the snappy power delivery that the bmc does ( 2014 model). It also doesn’t handle as neutrally, or feel as well balanced ( bear in mind that the bikes were on different wheels).

I’ve also read that the seatposts are a huge cause of RMA’s with the canyons as they flex and cause issues with the seat mast ( cracks). Not sure I’d want that in the back of my mind when owning one.

BMC for me.

I was looking on the Canyon before buying my 2014 SLR01.
Wasn't really any choice for me, BMC had the geometry that fit.

The BMC is a race tool. Light, handles well and is rigid.
Butt ugly in a greyish black with visible seams from the mold.
Canyon use odd 1 1/4 stem, BMC their own square seatpost.
I'd say go for the fit. They are both modern top end racers.
Max Gravity, unfairly treated by gravity!
