My frame is a sod in as much as the OD of the HT (at the top, of course) is 48 - not that common. ID is 42mm. I have been using an FSA No.42/48 tapered headset, and this comes with a tall bearing cover.

However, got myself a new and hard to find top bearing cover with an OD of 48 and the recess cut inside is too shallow and a gap is present under the rim.

What do you reckon folks? Try another upper assembly and hopefully this time one that my new bearing cover will actually cover?

Thanks for any comments.
