Have just got new cables, which come with a pair of tiny brass doughnuts that have a nylon insert (sorry no picture), does anyone know what these are for?

I've had a look in the Campag Tech Manual and on their website and can't find anything. My guess is that they fit at the lever end of the gear cables or somehow insert in the ergo levers :?:

Current ergo levers have a little washer in them at the point where the housing butts up. They can easily be lost when installing cables. I'm assuming this is what you have. I have not had them in my cable sets but maybe this is a new thing. You'd only need them if the existing ones had been lost.

Ah, I see. I will have a proper squint at the levers. Does 2010 count as current btw?

The current body style and mechanisms started with the 2009 model year. So although there have been some running changes, in this context a 2010 lever is "current".
