Hi Guys
This is my first query even though I've been checking out this forum for a long time. There is some great info here. Anyway, a quick query in regards to Ultegra 6800. I just want to verify that it's designed to have some front der. cage (skid plate) rub when you initially go from the big ring to the small? Is it normal to have to trim once you go down to the small to eliminate the rub in small chainring/largest sprocket? I have the cable tension set so there is no rub in the trim position on the large chainring/largest sprocket.

Ultegra 6800 front derailleur query
IIRC the new DA and Ultegra release the FD into the small ring trim position, instead of releasing the cable all the way. This is done to reduce the likelihood of chain drop. So if you're not going to cross-chain, you click the left shifter button twice to go into the small ring.
Other Shimano shifters release the cable all the way, if you want trim, you click the button then flick the brake lever.

Thanks efeballi. I guess with the skid plate you're less likely to notice the rub on that side anyway.
