Do Specialized saddles typically run close to the weight listed on the Specialized site?

I ordered this saddle in 155: http://www.specialized.com/us/en/ftb/sa ... evo-expert

It was specced for 212g. I just got it in and weighed it at 264g. I could see maybe +- 10, even 20g but 52g?

Yeah, I have 2 others and bother are actually within a gram or 2 of the posted weight. I guess this one is either a typo, or my saddle is an anomaly.

Did they send you the wrong saddle? The Evo Comp is around 260g.

It says Romin Evo Expert on the side, and all the markings are exactly like the picture online. The packaging also clearly states 212g for a 155. Looks to be the right saddle to me.

Just a thought:
I recently installed a Romin Evo Expert Gel 155mm and IIRC it weighed about 270g.

It replaced a 155 Romin Evo Expert (not Gel) that weighed about 215g.

So maybe you have a mixup between Gel & non-gel versions?

The Expert Gel does not say "Expert" on the saddle though from all the literature and real life pictures I have seen. Also where it says TI Hollow on the rail, it is black, mine is red there.

I think it' s the older one. It sounds like it is this one here: (listed as 241 gr.) http://www.artscyclery.com/Specialized_Romin_Evo_Expert_Saddle/descpage-SB1REES.html

That could very well be it, but where the Specialized S is on the top of the saddle, mine is black, not red. Mine is also black on the underbody, unlike this one, which is red.

Mine looks EXACTLY like this one (black version)
