Hi, long time listener but first time caller, so be gentle. I'm thinking on buying a set of Tune skyline skewers, the ultra lightweight version 19 grams. I weight 79 kg and ride mainly on fairly smooth roads and want feedback from other about these skewers. Will they break with my sort of weight riding them, oh yeah I just ride socially, no racing but some hill climbs but that's it.

Cheers and thanks
Baz

I don't ride super light skewers (Zipp Ti) but seeing as how the weight of your bike rests on the hub axels and not the skewers themselves, you should be fine. A lot of threads here have discussed the pros and cons of lightweight skewers, search around and read some of the old threads. You'd be surprised how many ride "heavy" kit like Dura-Ace etc...

:welcome:

Thanks mate, appreciate your view and agree that the skewer is not carrying the weight. I am trying to build a nice light bike and bang for buck you can save a good amount of weight for not to much cash.

Cheers baz
