Does anybody know if Shimano is making any changes to the top of the line R320 road shoe for 2014? I've been searching the net and not found anything. Kindly point me in the right direction if you're in the know.
Thanks,
Chris

Did anyone get to try both R320 and R170? Curious if the R320 is worth the extra coin...

According to Shimano reps at Interbike 2013, there will be no changes to the R320 in 2014.
There may be 'special edition' colors during the year, however.

Thanks prendrefeu, that's the info I was looking for. Now I guess all I have to do is wait until US distributor have my slightly unusual size.

I hope they make some special edition colors in wide. I HOPE YOU'RE LISTENING SHIMANO!

I really wanted to the blue one's last year.

There are no changes to their 320, but a new sh-r260 is available. It is a bit cheaper.

It looks like those r260's are coming in wide that includes half sizes too.

These might be an option for me then, as I'm looking for a 38.5 and that just doesn't seem to exist right now in the R320. Discussing the R320 with a Shimano dealer last week, they may have eliminated the 38.5 size for the R320.

From Shimano's website:
Size: 36,37-47 in half sizes, 48,49,50
Wide type size: 36,37-47 in half sizes, 48

Yeah, so their website says, but I spoke to Shimano USA and had a pretty highly regarded Shimano dealer log onto the Shimano order system and both indicated that the 38.5 was "out of stock and not available for backorder." I'm hoping that just means that they won't fill that size until the next production cycle, but I'm afraid they might be discontinuing the size going forward into '14.

How much wider are the e-sizes on r320, anyone know? Compared to a regular size of the same shoe ofcourse? And where are they wider, both heel, mid-foot and toe box or just toe box and/or mid-foot? My biggest local Shimano shoe dealer have previously been complete a-holes (pardon my french) about taking in or stocking e-sizes of the higher end shoes when asked upon...

...my feet decided to take a leap of growth sideways last year, finding shoes has become a total pain and I really liked my r310s...

I think the E width 320 shoe is appropriately wider than the D width standard model without being sloppy.
If you have really, really wide feet- this may not be the answer.
Heel is not sloppy, width seems to be in the toe.
Box feet also "went wide" in the last year.
I was looking for solutions and the Shimano R320 and XC90 in the E width fit the bill nicely.

I have both. The E width is roughly the same width you would get had you ordered one size larger in the normal D width. Or perhaps just a smidgen wider than one size up. Most of the width is in the toe and mid foot area. As stated above, the heel is not sloppy. Its very nicely done.

Thanks guys, very very useful info! This way I might be able to try on my size plus a size up to get a feel for the width of the E-size. I've heard the 320 got a slightly bigger toe box over the previous 310/315. Also hear the Spesh S-Works are fairly big in the toe box, but haven't yet gotten around to trying one out. Maybe someone has a comparison of S-Works vs 320 e-size, which is roomier? (These are my two pre-research top contenders ATM)
