My bike came with a double seat clamp, 31.6 and 34.9 weighing in at 37 grams.

If I were to ditch the 31.6 half of the clamp, I can get a 11g 34.9 clamp for £9.99! 26g for 10 quid is golden, in my point of view.

If my frame came with a double clamp, will I be jeopardizing too much by moving to a single clamp?! Carbon frame and seatpost, btw.

Anyone out there done this before? Opinions, please!

Probably not. You might just want to slap some carbon grip on that post to make sure it doesn't slip.

Assume your frame has a cinch slot... if it does, then a single clamp should work as Frankie mentioned.
