Will this work? Shimano Ultegra 6800 11 speed shifters paired with DA 7900 10 speed front and rear derailleurs plus 11 speed cassette and chain. Thanks.

Haven't heard anyone try it, but my guess would be no. Feel free to give it a try and report back with your findings. Just don't be surprised if it's less than exceptional.

I was thinking the exact same thing except I keep reading everywhere about how exact the shifting between cogs are with the new 9000/6800 shifters and wonder if the 7900 rear derailleur has the technology to do so, pretty sure the 7900 front does not. I am also find on the net that 6800 derailleur prices are cheaper then 7900.

Hi,

The pull ratio is extremely different, this should have little to no range of usability in either the front or the rear. Just sell your 7900 for 6800, you'll probably come out on top anyways if you buy the ultegra from ribble or some such.

Run a search. Various ppl have asked the 10/11 speed compatibility question. It doesn't work very well because pull ratios are different. Some people have had success with converting 11 speed cassettes down to 11 but you'll still need to run a 10 speed derailleur
