Hi

I am going to put Ui2 on my bike and been advised for a cleaner look to put the battery in the seatpost.

Unfortunately my Pro Vibe 7s aluminum seatpost isnt Di2 ready.

http://www.parker-international.co.uk/1 ... post-.html

Rather than buying a Di2 compatible seatpost I wondered if either of these battery holders would work with my existing seatpost?

Thanks

Just use some cheap foam and tie it up with some cable ties and you are all set. Simple and easy.

I've used this one. Works on all seatposts of standard sizing. Two sizes to chose from.

If u want lighter, just go a lipo stick battery and fix it into the seatpost with space invader foam insulation in a can...

Have you done this yourself? If so which battery did you use, I have done an internet search and the range of lipo slim line batteries is mind boggling  Thanks :D

I used a similar method to the above, though I wrapped it in a single layer of packing foam and jammed it down inside the seat tube rather than up into the actual post. Lower COG and slightly shorter cable required..

will the battery eventually slide down due to all the bumps you hit on the road?

Not in my case as it is sitting nice and tight and my seat tube tapers right down to shape around the wheel, although it's a valid consideration to raise for those with cylindrical tubes. No different to fitting it into the post I suppose - common sense approach to make sure it won't move over time.

Sorry for late reply...
Yes I have done this many times with ui2 battery conversions... Very easy to cut down the mount to a very small size to run inline, in the seat tube... The selection of lipo stick battery depends on the size you have to play with, the mAh capacity u want to run, and weight considerations. I run a 1600mAh battery with my 7970 setup, and get about 7000kms out of it between charges...

This is the exact battery I run:
