I'm of the thinking to get this bike below 7kg will cost me the price of a new cannondale bike weighting in at 6.3 out of the box.

Without stripping the whole bike down to confirm my suspicion, can somebody tell me the weight of this frameset please. That is frame and fork only. If I have the weight I can do the math.

Oh by the way, all I know this is a 2012 frame.

I read here the frame is 980gms and the fork is 340ish (for the Focus t4 fork), so it's not too bad

How were you planning to get your bike weight down, Sram Red buy itself won't do it ?

using DT Swiss RRC425F / RRC525R.

Fine so then if I take your answer of 1100g for a certain cannondale then I'm only 200g heavier. Why then would I struggle to reach 6.3 if those cannons are bought from the shop at that weight? Basically to not stretch this thread longer: Why would I struggle if the maths are only different worst case by 200g?

Wasn't being critical, just wondering how you were going to get down to 6.3 without going to a super light groupset and wheelset, which you have now advised.
By the time you spend the money on the SRAM Force 22, DT Swiss RRC425F / RRC525R , lighter crankset, maybe lighter bars/stem, seat , seatpost, pedals and tubular tires, it might be cheaper to go for a package like the Supersix Evo Hi-mod bike.

Hi lannes, knew you weren't being critical, but the thread just became irritating long :)

Anyway, you're right, thats why I'm stopping at 7.5kg. Should be enough. I got the DT Swiss wheels. Should make a world of difference overall on the up hills.
