The neat thing about the OD2 stems is that they come with a shim to fit any 1 1/8 steer tube

OK, turning into full hijack - any views on the bars?...I usually use 3T ergonova with the compact shape and egg-shaped tops. Do you know if the integrated setup has a fairly compact/shallow drop? I'd be getting 90mm/400mm.

compared to the bar I am building with it is not as compact. I opted not to get the integrated bar/stem combo I prefer the adjustability of having a separate bar/stem,

did a bit of research on the Propel brakes. At least Belkin and Shimano use the fourier brakes.
On mine where unbranded (pre production Fourier???) alloy brakes (Tom Jelte Slagter had them on his bike in early 2013).
Apparently no one likes the versions of these brakes that come with the framesets (with large or small Giant logo's).
Bit strange that giant still sell these premium framesets with something the pro's throw off from new.....

Finally was able to ride the bike today after a way too long winter.
First impression is that it has a nicer stable ride. The front end is solid and goes exactly where you want it to. The bb area is also very stiff.
Over small bumps or rough pavement the ride is smother than my old S5 team. I do feel the larger bumps or road cracks.
the brakes work well and I did not have any want for more power. They are the lower end alum model so that may be part of they reason that they are fine,
Cornering is amazing as the bike loves to carve a corner at any speed.
The bike is more stable in cross winds and gusts than the S5 and also seems faster with two large water bottles mounted.
Overall I am happy with the trade and do not miss the S5 as much as I thought I would.
