I have never felt the need to service the cartridge bearings in Record/SR brakes, but does anyone do it? And what have you found? Brakes get a lot of water and other muck thrown at them but these bearings seem pretty impervious.

I've done it several times on brakes that were gummed up and sticky. The "bearing" is not a cartridge, its more like some tiny balls pressed into a plastic ring and is exposed, works fine though. What i've found you need to watch for is the alu nuts on Record. If you tighten them down the grub screws too much it splits the alu nuts. Some replacement ti ones do the job fine though if they break.
