Sorry for your trouble! I hope you weren't injured! This is a delicate spot for a break to occur!
The details would be interesting here, e.g. which model AX saddle and under what conditions (including rider weight, type of bike, etc.) did this problem happen? Do you think there is a design failure, or were there other contributing factors in the break?
I'm sure that other forum members would be interested.

It was the Sprint model......68 grams. I weigh 152 lbs. Axel from AX told me that the seatpost clamp rails need to be rounded off with a file. Basically, telling me that the seat was installed wrong

don't know the rail diameter.......but I am using a WR carbon post
me thinks weight and strength could be related
I'm shopping for a saddle, what did you replace it with?

Are they going to replace it or fix it
they should recommend which seatpost to use and not use, but why the hell do i want to sand down the clamps. dont they have something protecting the carbon? personally i like the TUNE Speedneedle (not as light).

I actually have a Tune speedneedle now that I took the cover off of to have the "all carbon" look...........now weighs 79 grams
The two AX saddles I got both came with directions to make sure the clamp edges were not sharp and that the clamp had to be more than 1 cm from the end of the metal sleeves on the rails. Don't know if you got the same instructions, but the pic looks like your post clamp was too close to the end of the sleeve since it's crimped and bent very close to the end.
How long did you use it?
