Looking for inexpensive handlebars with the longest reach. the opposite of compact bars. ideally not too wide though - 42cm CtC would be best.

anyone have any idea of what I should look for? trying to come up with a list and i though the expertise here might be a good place to start.

Nitto and Grand Bois also make some really deep bars, but they'll require a shim if you're planning to use a 31.8 stem.

Any reason why you're opting for longer reach pars rather than a Longer stem?

if they are still made, the Salsa Pro-road. Used to have a pair, by far the longest reach on market.

thanks for the ideas guys. definitely going 31.8, so the touring bars are probably out.

no particular reason i'm going long reach bars instead of a stem... just trying something different. everyone else seems to change reach by the stem, and i thought why not try longer reach bars?

One reason why not is that you may tend to bang your forearms when riding out of saddle in those long drops.
