Hi guys have read many of the threads but wondering if this kit from toronto cycles

Hollow Rear Derailleur Pivot Bolt Kit - Shimano - 8.5 grams

Will work for Sram red, it just says all shimano type.

How much weight will actually be saved. This is sram red black by the way.

Thanks in advance.

No, it won't fit. The screw sizes are different entirely.

The only "kit" that exists for SRAM is the Far and Near variety, for sale over at Fairwheel Bikes for example.
The FWB description also informs you of the exact screws you will need.

The "kit" won't save you much weight for an already low weight derailleur. By default, most screws in the SRAM Red Derailleur are either aluminum or titanium.
If you want to go lighter, you'll need to:
-swap jockey wheels
-swap to nylon bolts
-mill out body work significantly
-swap inner cage
-create new cable adjustment bolt/mechanism.

Thanks for very helpful post. I was wondering what all the sram bolts were made of. You're a champ.

Would one of these kits save much weight on a Force RD? Are most of the bolts Al?
