I'm toying with stripping my sram force levers to bare carbon. I have zero idea how to do this, but I'm sure someone here has. Tips?

Here's how one guy did it for his stem:

Scraping with a razor blade is the other tried and true method. Search around the site, I think prendrefeu has some tips in his build thread as well.

He also did a fork that way and it too came out well.

The best method would be to remove the levers from the body, work on them separately (sanding & refinishing, however you want) then replace the pin.
I believe that with anything if you want to tune it properly: take it apart, tune, then put it back together.

Take a look at this link here from CX Magazine. The tutorial is about converting the levers to singlespeed, which may not be your goal, but the initial method is the same.

It's very easy. I did it with my SRAM levers and refinished lots of other carbon stuff including an Ibis Mojo frame. There is lots of info on this forum but here's what I did:

- Tap out the pin to remove the lever.
- Wet sand until you remove the logos. (Don't worry about removing all the existing clear coat - when you re-spray it will look even)
- Respray with clear coat can from hardware store. I prefer satin finishes.

I didn't re-spray with clear coat, it adds too much weight.

I used Opti-Coat instead. Permanent UV protection, nothing lighter.
