I know the NDS of a GXP BB is 2mm narrower, but is there a real world implication for this? Can it be run without any worries?

Rotor's Twitter account said "no problems" but others then chimed in and said "no, cannot be done".

This thread simply advises to install a King BB, which isn't an option as this is on my spare bike. Otherwise Google and search have come up without a definitive answer...especially in light of Rotor saying there would be no problem.

Rotor 3D is Shimano standard spindle and won't work with GXP bottom bracket. You need to replace cups for HT2 / Rotor 24mm ( if your frame is BSA/ ITA ) , otherwise are plenty of solutions for all standards : Praxis for PF/BB30 as an example, but also you can buy from Rotor basically any imaginable bottom bracket which will fit your frame and crankset ( for frame shell : PF30, BB30, BB86, BSA, ITA, BBright….) .

In the left bearing of a GXP BB is a race pressed in. you can tap that out and make a GXP BB work with 24mm axle cranks.

Rightio, following. Ta.

It's a BSA BB, so installing a shimano bb not too hard. Just to avoid extra fiddling would have been handy.

I was considering a Rotor crank for my BSA frame. I will likely purchase one of the 30mm axle options and install a Rotor BSA 30 BB. Seemed like the simplest solution to me.

Attached is a compatibility chart if helpful

If you are buying a new 'HT2 style' BB for 3D cranks, it's pretty hard to go past the SM-BB9000. They're super light and really cheap. The downside is that with the smaller OD cups, you'll either need another tool or you can use an adaptor with an old tool.

Yes, get the Dura Ace BB, it's 45g lighter than a GXP and comes with the tool adaptor. 3 minute swap.
