FSA K-force handlebar side view... Anyone have a pic?
Moderator: robbosmans
I've heard these bars don't have much of a flat section behind the drops to rest your hands on. Just trying to get a picture of this to see for myself. I have Ritchey's now and the space is adequate enough for me but I have heard of someone who disliked the FSA's due to the lack of space.
So if anyone has a pic or could share their experience with me on this subject I would greatly appreciate it.

I will take a picture of mine tomorrow. There is only about 2.5 inches of flat after the bend.

Hmmm, doesn't look like much space back there after all. Tough to tell 100% from that pic though.
Untrimmed steerer!? And you call yourself a weight weenie!

My hand does not fit on the flat section and on the un-cut steerer I call myself lazy.
Excellent info, thanks for the heads up!
And nice to meet you Lazy... =)

I must be lazy too! Not really, I usually cut my steerer several times to get it as low as possible, but still leave about 3/8" in case I get old or want to sell the bike to someone that is not as limber as me. Generally I can tollerate more drop than most of the people that I ride with (all the people that are 51 my age or older and most of those above 25), but if I ever had an injury and couldn't ride for a while or wanted to sell the bike to a squid, it is not that big a deal to leave a smidge extra. Also, if you ever want to sell the fork for a fork upgrade, the more you have left increases your audience. I use the stems in the down position and use 0 degree stems with depending on the bike around less than one inche below the stem so leaving a little is OK in my opinion.
For certain parts stiffer is more important than lighter.
All good points for leaving the steerer longer, and I was really joking anyway. Your pic also shows not much space down there on the bars. Looks like I'm picking a different set...
