Hey

I have recently bought the Deda Superleggera bars (and stem).

The bars are carbon, and have a section of high friction coating where the shifters clamp on. All good. However, the position I want to have my shifters is outside of this section (I want to mount them further up than the friction section.)

I have looked on the Deda site for info, but there is nothing.

Anybody know if this is going to cause me any problems, or do you reckon it will be OK? I am wondering if the carbon is thicker on this rough section...

I ve just purchased this bar and got the exact problem as u... The roughened area is way too low for my ultegra shifters... Afraid there would be some slippage if the shifter installed outside this area, anyone had experience on that?? Big thanks

Just rough up the area with heavy duty sandpaper and put a dab of carbon assembly paste under the shifter clamps to give it a bit more of a surface to bite into as its tightened
