"They've got to have a spiel for every scenario and it's passed on down from R&D to the guy in the bike shop!"

We can only dream of a world where R&D guys are calling the shots from the top down :D

As a matter of course, I'm afraid the marketing and/or finance departments have the most pull...

The R&D lingo / explanations are probably too confusing for most consumers to understand, so that's where the salesmen earn their $$s.

i guess we 've all been waiting for a niche frame that would reset the frame building standards in a similar way to what the LW wheels caused when they first entered the market. Unfortunately, that was not the case, as it seems we are dealing with just another top end frame like all the others. No breakthroughs here, nothing to see, nothing to get me drooling.

Stumbled on this thread. Seems marketing of these bikes has picked up in my area. What struck me is how similar this bikes geometry comes to the Canondale EVO black. Do they perform the same and could they be built out of the same Far East factory?

The frame is nothing like the Evo.

Ok, that's settled then...

According to my intel, the LW frame is obviously heavier, but stiffer (the Cannondale is not super stiff. (Not saying that it should be)), and app. as comfortable as the Evo.

Look at the two frames side by side. The closest resemblance is that they are black. :)

@petal666 Sorry, I was sure you ment that the LW frame was inferior to the Cannondale....
