Which light, durable headsets are you CAAD10 owners running? I saw the Extralite and KCNC headsets, but I'm not sure if these work since the CAAD10 has a tapered headtube with a 1-1/4" bottom bearing. Would love to get some suggestions. Thanks.

I kept the Cannondale stock lower bearings and installed the upper half of a Campag Record Hiddenset

Never thought of doing that. That basically allows you to use any 1-1/8" headset. Thanks.

Cane Creek lets you buy the upper and lower bearings/ cap separately, so you can get any of their 1-1/8th uppers with any 1-1/4 lower.

Thanks that's a good idea, but are the Cane Creeks light?

The 40 series is not the lightest, but it is meant to be economical. You can get either the short/9mm or tall/15mm cap. Both finish goes perfect with the CAAD10 black gloss finish. The price is approximately $30 including new upper bearings.

i have both of them and purchased both just with the upper bearing. Good stuff from cane creek.

to the OP anything with a campy ish upper bearing will work. I had a 7mm fsa that came with my old frameset too. I think canecreek might sell a carbon version of the is42.

It doesn't seem like there are any headsets that give considerable weight reduction. Might just be better off using the stock headset that came with my frame.
