Shortening Tune DC14 rear skewer - what size die?

I scored a couple Tune DC14 rear skewers on Ebay for $25 a piece. I'm tempted to shorten one of the skewers so I can use it for my front wheel. I'm sure most of WW crowd would advise against this, but I think it's doable as long as I have the right size die. Does anyone know what size die I would need for a Tune DC14?

It's probably 5 X 0.8 or 5 x 0.9 but not 100% sure.

The DC14 is a butted ti axle. The butting starts right where the stock threads end so shortening and re-threading would not be possible.

I don't have the skewers yet, but couldn't you just thread the butted section?

The diameter of the threaded section is 5mm (with a fine thread pitch.) However when the threading ends the diameter tapers down to 3.8mm. If you were to thread that section it would require making a new end cap to handle the reduced diameter. It could also fail during use. Once you get the skewers in your hands, it will make sense why it's not something you could easily do.
