Shimano's Di2 Canbus protocol - advances on hacking it?

This shit is not hard. I guarantee it's a variation on a standard digital communication interface. Someone send me a $2000 UI2 gruppo and I'll detail it for you in a couple of weeks.

No shit, but a bunch of hemming and hawing about why it hasn't been done before isn't likely to document the interface either.

Nothing useful to add except telling how good u are? Do u fix aircraft as well? Move along....
Here's a battery hack you've probably seen already:
Buy a used SM-BMR1 or 2 (they are the same) for ~$25. Update the firmware, or not.
Get a teeny allen and remove the chip in the base. Those posts are + and -. The tapered side is +.
Solder a wire with a JST (japanese standard terminal) connector.
Buy cheap 7.4v Lipo (2 cell) batteries on Ebay for $6.
For $31, you have a Di2 battery.
Note: BMR1 and 2 do not support BlueTooth wireless configuration.
