Converting GXP Quarq to bb30

So I have done my research but yet to find answers...

I currently own the Sram Elsa Quarq (GXP) 172.5. I now own a cannondale evo which is BB30. I understand there are many ways of putting the GXP crank in a BB30 shell, with uses of adapters such as the MFG adapter. Quarq also offers a service where you send in your GXP crank and they convert it into BB30. I was opting for this option because I prefer BB30 to BB30 without adapters.

Has anyone else sent in their crank to Quarq and has had this service done? Quarq states that when they receive your GXP crank, they remove the quarq spider and give you new crank arms, while attaching a normal spider to your old arms. Does this mean that the quarq spider can be used with both gxp spindles and bb30 spindles? Wouldn't they need to replace the spider too?

Thanks for your help, I'm alittle confused :beerchug:

Sounds to me like you will end up with a GXP non powermeter crank and a BB30 powermeter crank.

quoting above not required

That's their claimed service, but I'm curious as to the powermeter spider. Is the spider universal, meaning can be used regardless of gxp or bb30 crank arms/spindles?

I'm guessing the spiders for the Elsa and Riken can be used for both BB30 and GXP spindles/arms.
