Can anyone tell me what's the difference between the 6 and 7 series, especially the frame and fork weight?

They 6 and 7 are made from different level carbon fiber ("600" vs "700" series carbon). They have the same geometries and similar weights, but the 6 weighs just a hair more. By comparison, I have read that the difference between the 5 and the 7 is about 200-250g, depending on the size of the frame.

As for the forks, I think you'd have to check out part numbers. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the 5, 6 & 7 series Madones use the same fork. Here's how I have come to that conclusion: The Trek website lists the 5, 6 & 7 series forks as being "full carbon", having E2 asymmetric steerer and carbon dropouts, but they don't list the type of carbon used, like they do for the frame. Again, just speculation on my part, but given Trek's past penchant for telling consumers whether a fork is made from RL, RXL or RXXXL carbon, to just saying "full carbon" leads me to believe that they can't differentiate between the forks in any appreciable way. If the 7 series fork were, in some way, better than the other forks, they would surely tout that.

Oh, and regarding the previous posts about tire size, the 2008-2010 Madones (second generation) could easily fit a 25c tire, both front and rear, and could have probably fit a 28, too.

Any idea of the frame weight difference between the 6 and 7? Deciding real hard between the 6 and 7 right now. If the weight difference isn't too much, might opt for the 6 instead.

I don't know the difference, sorry. However, I can tell you that from my experience, the 600 series carbon is pretty nice (my wife rides a 6 series Domane, and the inside finish is pretty nice). I'd be hard-pressed to justify the cost of going with the 7, unless you have maximized EVERY gram on the bike (or are planning to), and want to drop those last 100g (a little more if you go vapor paint). I'd go 7 series if you are shelling out the cash for the vapor paint, otherwise, I'd go 6.

Trek Madone 6.2 red coloured in size 50 H2 is 1033g. Fork 357g uncut. 2014 model. A bit heavy but supercool frame and the colour is outstanding

Ultegra, hands down. Yes, there's a weight penalty, but they're just sooooo much better (I have the DA9000 brakes, which are functionally the same thing, just a little lighter).

Is Trek running internal seatpost battery or external for Di2?

Internal for everything above a 50, I believe. 44, 48 and 50 are external, last I checked.

Anyone know the difference between the U5 Vapor Coat and the Vapor Coat?

I think the U5 has no added tint, while the other Vapor coat has an added tint, which adds a little weight, but still less than a full paintjob would add.

I don't think they even make some of those sizes anymore... I thought it was 47.50.52 and so on.. I picked up a used 47 with the intention of going 9070 Di2 internal. Starting the build soon.. just need more parts. Have Frame, 9010 DA brakes and Aeolus3 D3 wheels so far.

They make the smaller sizes in the WSD frame sizes, sorry for not specifying.
