That was the team bike of renault-elf-gitane. Used from 1978-1983. It was not the first aero road bike though this was.http://velonews.competitor.com/2010/09/ ... ike_140221

That's a track bike.
I only train on days that end with "y".

Yes, I think it was the first seriously used aero road bike, although it was only used for timetrails by the riders of the Renault-Gitane team.

I can tell you first hand that it is seriously streamlined too:

During the late 70's I had a Nishiki Aero-----wasn't really high end but all the tubing was definitely Aero tubing----nice bike but flexy if I remember right.

Is it meant to be more aero with the frame pump, like the P4 is faster with its bottle? Uci would probably frown on this bike as well...

Chesini Precision 83 had some "aero" solutions.

I'm impressed with the tight fitting jerseys. They just have decided that hats turned backwards were more aero.

Rough French translation
4th place in the TT, bike abandoned, soon after
Those Climbing gears though
Cyclocross, in general, is about riding the wrong bike for the conditions.
