That pain isn't normal Kermithimself- did you try before you buy? Or take a chance online? As mentioned above, they do come up as a snug fit, ala SIDI.

I tried them in a store before buying, actually spending about an hour trying different shoes. The pain wasn't there, but came after riding them.

They fit GREAT on my feet, and it's only my left ankle that experiences this pain.

Has anybody experienced the same, or is it just a matter of breaking the shoes in? Had a ride in them today, and the pain was terrible.

I got that too on my 2012s, just switching from a size 42.5 to a 42, which I believe fits me better.

I repeatedly rolled the material back and forth and outward a bit to soften it up. But I think I mainly just got used to it, like with any minor contact point on a new pair of shoes. On me it was the right ankle bone.

After 5 years I finally destroyed my 2008 s works.

Bought a pair of the 2013...after 3 weeks (15 rides) the toe box near the big toe caved in on my right shoe. LBS confirmed the issue and gave me a new pair. 5 or 6 rides in, toe box near the big toe caved in on BOTH shoes. LBS gave me a third pair. I'm 10 or 12 rides into this pair with no issues.

Talked to one other person who has experienced this problem.

Anyone else?

I've got the 2012 S-Works which I love but I also get a small pain but it's just below my left ankle on the outside :?
It's odd because it doesn't feel like the material is that high up to rub.

For me, it's the topline on the inside that's causing the pain. Might work if I soften the tissue up a bit like Rick mentioned. Might make it softer on the spot. It's definately worth a shot.

After riding about 500 kms the pain has stopped. Looks like my feet just needed to get used to the shoe/the shoes had to be broken in.

I finally found a pair in 43.5 from Spec's online store. I have been searching for them for a while, and they had been non-existent in my size.
The really good news?
477 grams for the pair (and wow do they feel comfy)!
