I have a friend who used a bit of t-cut polish on his matt black finished tarmac  which gave it a shiny finish in this area! Does anyone know if this can be undone-I was thinking some of the finest wet and dry paper to take the shine off?

Cheers

Yes in general, but making it blend in perfectly with the matte finish around could be hard.

Yep, I think you would have to polish the whole frame, then re-matte it.

I think a scotch-brite pad would be better than wet&dry. They are available for industrial applications in different levels of abrasion

Thanks guys. I should have mentioned it's only about a 3 inch section on the seat stay so not a huge amount. Will do a discrete test area!

3M 2601 pads.

You don't need to do the whole frame, and blending will be easy. Whoever tells you that you need to do the whole frame over has never done finish work.
