Recently saw a video of a team quick step mechanic showing how they clean their bikes, specifically the chain and RD. They used a morgan blue chain holder which you can order for about $12-$17. I Dont always take off my wheel and get this detailed after every ride, but I do like to clean often.

All the parts below cost me $4.90
I used

2 5/16 washers and one smaller 5/16 washer
Rubber stopper 1-5/8' x 15/16' (drilled a hole through middle)
blue piece is Left over from teflon tape holder
Hex bolt M8-1.25 x 70mm
M8-1.25 wing nut.

Almost all pre 1990 steel frames had a steel pin brazed on just above the inside of the dropout within the right seat stay with same purpose. This detail was then left out.
Nevertheless a nice diy holder here.

That's a good idea, but I just use an old hub. However, I suppose not everyone has an old hub lying around :D
