Hello there

I have a rather odd question regarding brand new Pinarello F8.
My friend recently bought a F8 model. While he was showing it, i noticed a rather strange position of both bottle holders.
They are completely uneven and bottle holder on a down tube is clearly moved to the right side apx. for almost an inch.
Is this due to Pinarello's asymmetric or it is a great flaw on this particular model.
I am asking this, because i have intent purchase the same model.

Thank you for your help.

With asymmetric frames it can look as if the bottle mounts are not mounted correctly.

Agreed check it out with your frame supplier but as per Valbrona it can be visually deceptive and is more than likely a design feature. I have a 65.1 but expect at some stage it will make way for a F8

The bottle cage is in the middle, the down tube isn't.

Not sure what you are talking about. The bottle cage is in the middle of the DT

Don't know about the bottle cage but that's a really good looking bike. Impressed that Sky talked some sense into them in ditching the silly curves.

Thank you all for replies. My friend is unreachable at the moment, so i can't get the photos.
Will try to explain:

My bike from above, both bidon holders are in the middle of bot tubes, but in symmetrical position:

> < so both ends are in the same direction

Pina from above, both bidon holders are in the middle of both tubes but:

>
< both ends are not in the same direction, this can be possible only if down tube is moved to the right.

Is this a case of Pina's asymmetrical design?

Is your friend's F8 an authentic frame? There are fake F8s already out...

I have an F8 and the bottle cages are slightly offset from one another due to the asymmetrical frame design. Its only a few mm though and hardly noticeable unless you are specifically looking for it (1in. NO WAY! - 3mm at most) . The bike rides great and I never miss the bottle cage slamming the bottle back in during hard efforts. The frame is ueber stiff and handles very well and comfortable.
