Yes and no.

If turning an existing 10-spd SRAM into 11spd using the exact same spacing as the 10spd, then yes, it's been done before on this forum - twice - and there are threads devoted to that.

If turning an existing 10-spd SRAM into an 11-spd using the new spacing found on the official 11spd SRAM, then no. Assuming the spacing is different from 10spd, and therefore the spacing the ratchet will be different, not just a matter of adding an extra notch on the ratchet.

I meant using the official 2013 Red or Force 22 internals to turn 2012 Red 10sp into official 11sp. I did not mean hacking existing 2012 Red 10sp internals into 11sp which as been done before has you point out. And for clarity sake assume I have an 11sp Shimano hub already.

I would contact your vendor, see what they are hearing, and where you are on their list of preorders. I hadn't heard the June 1 availability, but considering they haven't hit the pro peloton first, trickle down (for the drivetrain components) may be very limited for individuals for the time being.

Does any one know if the cog spacing on the road 11 speed cassettes is the same as on the XX1 cassette? And yes I know there are lots of other incompatibilities.

What bodies does the 11 speed sram cassette fit on?
I have a training wheelset with Dura Ace 9 speed hub, probably doesn't fit?
If not, what hubs? Looking at DT, Tune, ... ?

Same as Shimano 11s, so your 9s hub won't work.

The choice in cassettes seems a bit disappointing.
11-25: 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,19,21,23,25
11-26: 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,19,21,23,26
11-28: 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,19,22,25,28

For me an 11-25 has no benefits over my 9 speed 12-23, since I have no need for an 11 or 25 tooth. I'ld like to see an 11 speed 12-23.
Seems like they are seeing this 11 speed craze as a means to manufacture fewer choices (which is a lot cheaper for them).

Think I will go for a 10 speed SRAM group with an Ultegra 12-23 10 speed cassette. That gives me an 18 tooth cog and fits on my current wheelset too.

Sram usually starts new cassette models with a limited selection and fills then range in over time.

I think Shimano 11sp cassettes will work. I use their 10sp cassettes on my Sram 2012 bike. They shift better than 1070 cassettes and run quieter than the XG1090.

I wouldn't really hold your breath for a 12-23 since that's practically a straight block and most people live in a place with enough small hills to need an expanded range. Shimano makes a 12-25 so you could try that.

One of the local shops here in Australia is claiming to have stock of SRAM 22. I've not confirmed if they actually do.
