One of the local shops here in Australia is claiming to have stock of SRAM 22. I've not confirmed if they actually do.

I feel like Aussie land gets them well before the USA. They got MY13 Red well before us

straight block 11-21 is needed for my front 53/46 criterium gearing

I used to do mtb races on 48/36 12-27 gearing (2x9). Now they are producing road bikes with 50/34 and 11-28 gearing... What is happening to the world? :p
Although a 10 speed 11-28 would have been a serious advantage over my 9 speed 12-27 for mtb racing. Too bad I don't race anymore :'(

The advantage is that no degradiation in performance when the bike is rideen in wet weather. However it will lead to a whole new bnch of set up problems for gears though as you will have to bleed the system throgh very throughly. The other problem I see is cable length it will often be too long ( as it is for MTB disc brakes) and therefore for neat fitting cutting the line shorter will be unavoidable making a bleed necessary.

Hydraulic brakes I get hydraulic shifting will be a pain for us techs and will keep the forum busy with SRAM red shifter won't bleed properly or I got dot4 on my bar tape. Alot of stuff will have to be stripped of to bleed sucker. Electronic shifting is better idea bt bowden cables are even better.

Echelon Sports and Monza Imports distribute SRAM in Australia. Echelon Sports have the bigger road focus and were slated for delivery earlier. They are Brisbane based. Mechanical brake SRAM 22 was due this week hence it is believable that Brisbane shops have stock today. The rest of Australia next week. Hyro SRAM 22 (and S700 10speed hydro) are due next month.

Any news about Red22? Anyone installed it yet on their bikes?
I know a shop in Geneva who has the XG1190 cassettes in stock - I will be using them instead of the Shimano 9000 on my DA9000 build.
