Anyone has some experience with tax costums procedure? My frame is with them now for over 1 week.

How does that usually work, how, and when do you pay? (I am in Belgium)

I have, but not with Belgium. Just call them.

Thanks for the advise :beerchug: Called them and apparently things take a bit longer due to holiday season.

I will receive the brand new 2017 HongFu FM-008 (FM066_EVO) and will try to provide updates on that one asap :)

use carbon paste?

Yes, of course. I was just wondering if anybody else had noticed a larger seat tube on their frame.

Think I will apply a few layers of clear coat to the post before mounting.

Tried an other 27.2mm post, same result because same dimensions.

Going up a full size in post to 27.4mm will be too much im afraid plus not much (carbon) options available in that size. Will beef up the current post with a layer of paint or tape or something, since it doesn't need much.

just use a chinese carbon seatpost. Never received one with the correct measurements. Always ended up with 26.8-26.9mm diametre, so, I was forced to use a coke can sliced for shim.. :)

for adapting those to 27.4mm, you'd need to layers of can.

finally put together the aero clone. mainly used parts I had laying around.
unfortunately some cable stops were missing, so I couldn't install the DA 9100 I intended to use. Went with the old Di2 instead.
Otherwise the quality of the frame kit was really good.
Took it out for a few rides over the weekend and the feeling was good. Frame is very stiff and has a nice responsive feel.
Build it as cheap bike for racing and it should be able to do a good job

oh, wow, yes indeed looks good! What's the weight? You planning to make a gallery thread with parts list and all?

Did you choose some glossy option for the frame or some paint for it? Cause following my experience so far they always come in matte?

I wonder if you could have a surfboard repair shop add a few layers of carbon fabric (or even fiberglass) and epoxy to the seatpost at the clamp height level for a reasonable price.

Purchased an open mold frame for a friend looking to upgrade from a first road bike - didn't really want a BB30 but it seemed too cheap to pass up at £200 delivered. The seller was called "carbon-cycle" on eBay and the listing said that the frame would be shipped from Holland. No idea about the provenance of the frame or the company!
Some pictures below:

Frame had no damage or blemishes that I could see. The only "quality" issue is that the internal routing holes looked like they have been cut with an angle grinder and the cable stops are very loose in the holes. The seat post which shipped with the frame was also a bit industrial so I replaced it with another Chinese carbon one.

He also got a SRAM Force 22 groupset for a bargain price. Total weight is 6.96kg as built below with pedals and some carbon bottle cages:

Not really a true WW build but the total price was only around £1200 - pretty good I think. We did a shakedown ride at the weekend and the first impressions from my friend are very positive!

That's pretty good considering the costs involved.

In any case, its not just the weight but also the overall ride quality. An ultra light bike with severe compromises in ride quality is a no go imo.
Likewise vice versa.

Nothing here to indicate "severe compromises in ride quality." Was that intended to be relevant?

I am looking for a carbon race bike frame with the following requirements:

fully internal cable routing in handlebar and stem (also hydraulic cables)
disc frame
12x142
custom paint schedule
capable for 28mm tyres

I am looking at many topics, but I can't find a frame which matches all my wishes. This frame comes close (https://www.dhgate.com/product/2016-bla ... 39904.html), but no disc version.

Anyone a suggestion? Thanks in advance,

Tom

Yes I have seen this model, very interesting, but it does not offer the internal cable routing through the handle bar....
