Hi,

No one ever thought of using something like Tressostar or whatever other name they're on the market, for this?
You know, that kind of twill adhesive ribbon that was often used on track handlebars cover in shellac and lasted for centuries?

Yeah, I looked into that a few years ago (no joke). I think it wasn't very light and, at least at the time, I didn't do a good job of wrapping the lever body with the tape.

On that note, might as well go with Benotto tape, no?
Or hockey tape, if you want ridiculous grip.

Or tennis over-wrap tape if you want the absolute lightest without going bare. But it won't last a full ride's worth if you use the hoods a lot.
