Just quickly thought I would ask if anyone can sort out this dilemma for me.

I'm looking to buy some SKF bearings from Simply Bearings, but I see that they stock two versions of some of the bearings. For example:
61806 bearing
6806 bearing

61900 bearing
6900 bearing

Can anyone tell me what the difference is (if any)? The technical specifications seem identical for the 61XXX and 6XXX bearings, so what can it be?

Alright, I can answer my own question. I wasn't expecting Simply Bearings to answer me today (hence the thread), but they did and the answer goes:

"There are no differences at all, in some countries SKF and some other manufacturers stupidly called the bearing 69xx and in others 619xx and that's the sum of it."

AFAIK it's only SKF that uses the extra one x1xxx digit after the first number in their bearings.
It does not have any particular purpose but it makes it easy to identify the manufacturer.
