A bit of a retro project going on here, with DA7800 drivetrain. Unfortunately the 7800 didn't seem to come with a compact/110BCD crank, which is unfortunate for a quad impaired wannabe climber like me.

What would people recommend? 7900 cranks have the strong dark accents, Ultegra might work, but to be honest, I think the silver Athena looks best, a bit more unobstrusive than the Shimanos. (Maybe just polish the decals off ...)

Any alternatives?

Edit: Looks wise the plain FC-R700 seems to be a good match too, at least for the time being.
And here's a nice Sugino, not sure which BB standard though.

7800 SRM? :)

My wife has a spare bike with a regular 7800 crank, with a 50T outer and a 38T inner. Shimano makes an official 7800 50T ring. Looks nice.

I have a r700 compact and it's super stiff. A bit porky, but can't complain. Maybe some after market rings would be an option too.

I think either 6700 or Athena is a good bet aesthetically.

The Tune Smart Foot might be an option to if the vintage look is important it comes in silver so thats no problem.

Thanks everyone, FC-6650-S looks like a great candidate, if I can find one in 175mm, otherwise the R700 probably. (Even got a silver Smart Foot on stash, but it doesn't fit the rather burly frame, saving that for another build ...)

Edit: Seems Wiggle has it, but not at a discount one would expect for previous generation groupset :(

Is it the smaller ring you want to be able to reduce to 34 or the bigger one? If it is the bigger one you can get 50 or 46 rings for 7800 130 bcd.
