I wear a 41.5 in shimano r320 and a 42 in sidi ergo 2
for me the difference is the shimano has a larger toe box, so guys like me with a wider foot fit shimano better. i don't know if r320 or 315 has changed but i also used to wear the older r215 and my size has not changed

Note that some Shimano shoes also come in an extra wide fit.
