Any long term reviews on how the conversion held up? Would be excellent if you could provide some feedback! :D

@lo5707, this is a great mod! Relevant even more today since there are so many aero bikes now.

I also did this very recently to my 3T Strada and I never saw this post which is a shame because your technique seems easier.
I, too, saved over 100g. I think it's a great mod for proprietary shaped seatposts, like many on aero bikes which tend to be pretty heavy. As long as there's enough carbon where you insert the anchor pin, it should hold up. It will really depend on the seatpost. You can usually use parts off of a cheap yoke style seatpost you get on ebay or purchase parts separately. It'll end up costing about the same. The J&L cradles are decent as well as the ZRACE yokes which are 10 grams for the pair. Use titanium bolts for even more weight savings. If you want to really get weenie, use carbon tubes to make the anchor pin and the cradle.
I wrote up about it on my 3T Strada build here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=163002&start=75
Make sure you also read page 18 for the update to the carbon pin persion as it can break if you don't use washers.

Damn that's brilliant. You've given me a great idea for my TCR ISP. 😈

I need a new bike fit first, this will be for life.
