I have an acquaintance who is considering this hub. Anyone have any experience with it?

Is a clone of some brand name hub?

Thanks.

Yes a Bitex RAR13, but unbranded:

IMHO Bitex hubs are the best value there is. I find them superior to Novatec. Better geometry, nicer finish and better bearings.
If you find the freehub too loud, you can easily reduce noise, by removing three of the six pawls. This mod doesn't affect the engagement strength of the hub, as the pawls work in pairs of three at a time. Much nicer sound with just three pawls I think, and it also saves about 3 grams weight :D

BikeHubStore sells those for the same price, but they are in the US and provide very good and fast service, warranty, etc.

They are good hubs, especially for the price.

Ran the stats on this hub.. showing 44% NDS tension. Won't work for me.

Anyone.. make a similar quality hub in this price range.. in 36H ?
