Anyone using the new Lightweight Gen 4 Clincher wheelset? I am looking to buy a set of carbon clincher wheelset and alot of people seem to like the new Mad Fibers. But I am unable to get much feedback on the new Lightweight wheelsets. Any thought?

You shouldn't have to wait long. Peeps here have reported prob's with Lightweight, MadFibre say there is no weight limit so might be a better options for realistic roads.

I did a quik search but could not find any problems reported with the new Meilensteins...

I have seen some reports of problem with the older version of Lightweight but there's virtually no info on the newer one, it seems. That is why I asked in the first place.

What sort of problems? In my view the only issue about Lightweights is you can't get the spokes replaced at your LBS. But that is a non problem anyway as Lightweight spokes don't pop like conventional spokes. It would have to be a pretty severe and unusual crash to break a Lightweight spoke. I've got a set of the new 47.5mm tubular Meilenstein wheels and apparently they are 30% stiffer and more durable than the 53cm version which were ultra stiff and durable anyway.

I am interested in the clincher version, not the tubular.

What about breaking performance? Improved also?

The braking performance of the older ones i do not know,but the braking performance of the Meilenstein's is
really good.
If i compare them with the Bontrager Aeolus 5.0 full carbon the braking is far better.

I would take madfiber carbon clincher
Its not entirely carbon, there is some steel in it.

Still when you cycle with bloody expensive wheelsets like this, i rather not...they cost more than some car wheels for godness sake...and carbon clinchers braking...still questionable.

yeah, i heard some good feedbacks on the mad fibers but not into the looks. LW looks much nicer to me.

Remember, carbonsports customer aftercare, in my opinion, is the very best.
Also, I don't think there's a nicer looking wheel on the market.
I am biased though, I had 3 pairs up until last week!

I would have to disagree with the first point.

I'd give the nod to the Lightweights as well, for reasons of stiffness.

Where are you located? In North America problems with LW are more pronounced as you have to send them to Germany for repairs.
