Hi,

Why is it you kids expect a new toy from your pet manufacturer every single year anyways ?

It's Campagnolo, Shimano or Sram. Not Gaultier, Lagerfeld or Nintendo for crying out loud.

Your local fashion show freak, ;)

there are some increasingly unacceptable gaps in their range, that's why!

- shallow aero carbon wheels
- wide rims (tubs and clinchers)
- WW somewhat aero clinchers and tubs with steel
spokes
- BB30 chainset
- acceptable battery size for electronic shifting

To name a few.

And how about a multi roll climbing cassette?
11/27 or 11/29
If your hitting proper mountains with a compact setup you get your top end seriously clipped with campags present offerings.. 50-12= spinning out pretty bad at >60
I'm thinking about mix and matching a cassettes for my euro alpine vist I'm August :?

Wld make sense to add to range I agree

Though it all depends on the rider. Thankfully I've only ever the mountains fit enough that 50/34 with 11-25 at the back was more than adequate.

You know there's more than the battery in that box? Like all the electronics?

All the electronics? It's only a microcontroller, some memory and connectors. Can't be that large.

running an 11 for those leaves gaps too big in-between gears. that's why they make them in 12/27 and the 12/29. do you really need that 11 when you want a "climbing" cassette? if you insist on running a compact, run a mid-compact- or get the new campag triple

It adds up, though. There was an unintentiomal exploded view on a Movistar bike of it posted on this forum recently.

Bottom line is new Di2 is a lot tidier and Campag need to keep.

I'm not buying EPS because I don't want a Zeppelin on my seat-tube ... and I'm not the only one!!

Does it really? The other guys are happy to produce wide range cassettes on 10sp systems but Campag don't even do it when they've got 11 to play with.

And to Kjetil, glue a DI2 junction box to a DI2 battery and it's still a lot smaller than an EPS box. The rest of it looks great but they have to sort that out.

The Shimano electronics are in the front derailleur. The Campagnolo "battery" box also has diagnostics hardware, which is a separate buyable item with Shimano.
I also think that the Campag DTI box is big and somewhat ungainly, and I know they are working on an internal solution. Also I am pretty sure that they are, together with Shimano and the main frame manufacturers (Merida, Giant, haha!) working on a common standard for getting this stuff under lid so to speak.

As for cassettes I don't think an 11-27 or an 11-29 is missed so much as it was before the 52/36 chainrings were launched.

folks i i talk to say that they do feel that gap. in certain situations, they feel like one down is too much, and one up they spin too much.

Pfft.. I realize there will be compromises but an 11/27 cassette in 11speed is not the same beast that shimano or SRAM make in 10...

I don't know about you but I descend much faster than I climb. Losing the 11 is a big deal for me.
If the other guys can do it with the 10 speed systems then why not campy and its 11 speed system.

I'm gona try a mix and match.. I have a funny feeling that it'll work quite fine, truth be told....

So those folks wouldn't want one. Loads of other folks would.
