Would like to know out of the number of people on here, How many of you switched from a classic bend bar to the newer shallow bars like an FSA or Deda 100?
I have been looking into it.

I knew that one was coming!

It may be that I need to go back to my 3T Rotundo bars instead of the ones that came on the Cdale. I think they are more of a shallow Italian bend.

I'm thinking about taking the same step.

BTW, are the graphics on the Deda 100 bars removable with acetone?

I would think that the ones that are on the non-painted bars would be.

What do you want to know about the switch?

Hoods on classic bars will be about 1cm lower on a Rotundo and usually a bit further out. On bars like the Ritchey and Deda with a steep ramp, almost 2cm lower.

Actually just looking for more of "I switched and like the new bend." or "I switched and then went back."

I raced last season on a pair of FSA New Ergo bars. Can't say I loved or hated them. The new bike came with the Cannondale bars which are stated as being a shallow classic.

I've tried every shape imaginable and have stuck with Rotundos the longest. I have short fingers and classic bend bars seem to give me less space when shifting from the drops. I also like the extra drop from the hoods being lower and the 3 distinct hand positions. For me I found with compact bars I was always comfortable on the hoods or in the drops, but never on both. With ergo bars the angle of the drops never felt right and if I rotated them the hoods ended up weird. With Rotundos I get quite a bit of drop for a distinct drop/hoods position, angled hoods, and the reach is pretty solid. I don't think I will ever go back.

I switched recently from a traditional 42cm bar to a shallow drop 44cm bar. My back and shoulders are thanking me every ride.

Yes. Dunnit. Nail polish remover and lots of rubbing.

Switched from classic CT alu bar (late '90s vintage) to 3t Ergonova and would never go back to a classic shape. I don't like the look of the new shapes, but I love the feel.

Deeper bends seem to feel a lot better for sprinting.

I switched to shallow bars with variable radius bend - like them.

Mocked up the Ritchey WCS Curve models I have at home last night with some old shifters, just to see how I might like them. Have to say they felt pretty good just sitting there. Would need to unwrap my set up now and see how they worked out on a ride.

Switched from Deda Newton Shallow to Deda M35 alloy with RHM bend on my cyclocross, missing the classic straight lovely bottom on my new bar.
